How to register for the CCSE exam

Registration is entirely online through the Instituto Cervantes website. Here's the step-by-step process.

Registration steps

1

Create your account at examenes.cervantes.es

Sign up with your email. You'll receive a confirmation email to activate the account.

2

Choose date and exam centre

Pick the session that suits you best (one per month from January to November, except August) and the nearest centre.

3

Fill in your personal details

You'll need your NIE or passport. Make sure the name matches your document exactly — any mismatch may stop you from sitting the exam.

4

Pay the €85 fee

Payment is by bank card. Once done, you'll get the receipt by email.

5

Keep your receipt

Print it or save it on your phone. You must show it on exam day with your ID.

Required documents

  • Valid NIE or passport
  • Active email address
  • Bank card for payment

Exam price

The CCSE costs €85 in 2026. The payment is non-refundable, though you can change the date once if done in advance.
