What is the CCSE exam?+
The CCSE (Knowledge of the Spanish Constitution and Society) is an Instituto Cervantes exam required to obtain Spanish citizenship by residence. It has 25 questions and you need 15 correct (60%) to pass.
How much does the CCSE exam cost?+
Registration costs €85 (2026 price). Payment is made online on the Instituto Cervantes website.
How many questions does the CCSE have?+
The exam has 25 questions drawn from a public bank of 300. You have 45 minutes to complete it.
How many times can I take the CCSE?+
There is no limit. You can take it as many times as you need by paying the €85 fee each time.
